Chirripo
National Park. The
Hotel Diamante Real in San Isidro de El General is the place to stay
to visit Chirripo National Park. This park of well over 100,000 acres
is home to Cerro Chirripo, Central America's highest mountain peak.
A very scenic, short drive from the hotel following the Chirripo river,
the park offers a wide variety of flora and fauna. Hiking trails are
well marked. The Beaches  The
beaches of the south pacific coast are a short drive over the mountains.
In 45 minutes you can be in the world famous Dominical Beach, known
for its big waves and a favorite of surfers' world wide. Go south
Hermosa Beach, or north to Matapalo beach, and you will find miles
of unspoiled beach with barely a soul around. Both beaches are less
than ½ hour from Dominical. Some visitors prefer to stay in
the cooler climate and luxurious accommodations of Hotel Diamante
Real and visit the beaches during the day!
